I need help trying to recall what the title of a game is. I played a game a few years ago during my search for games similar to Shining Force II, and now i cannot remember what it was.

Its a TRPG and the only details i remember are spending forever on some island searching for turtle shells or something. Also i want to say that towards the end of the game you have a blimp to ride around in.

Oh! It all starts because someone opens the door in a tall tower or something and it unleashes evil.

I know this is terribly vague but I was hoping that someone here could help me remember what game this was.... Thanks for your help

I don't know, but it sounds Japanese. So very very Japanese. The only thing missing from your description is spiky hair and a comically over-sized sword for the main character. Of course, that would make sense as TRPGs/Sim RPGs are pretty popular over there. Maybe start your search with Japan based developers?

bahamut lagoon maybe? seems like anything sqaure makes you get a balloon in and this is the only TRPG I can think of that Shining force II era that square made.

If you can give me the year you played it in I can figure it out. There werent that many TRPGs then.

Thanks for the help guys. Thats not the one. Unfortunately. Actually I played it not that long ago, maybe 2 years. I was pretty heavy into emulating at the time. So I don't even know what system it was for. I wanna say it was a Genesis game but that could be wrong, I have scanned through all of the Gen roms on a few sights and none of them seem to be it. Soo...

It was definitely a Japanese style game but I don't remember the dialog being that awkward translated style. But that doesn't really mean anything.

I want to say the game starts out with you in a small town and something has gone wrong, and you go through this tall tower and go back in time (maybe). I also remember the game being more mini-game based. Solving puzzles and moving rocks to get through paths and things. I thought it was a turn based battle system but that could be wrong, might just think that because I was playing SF2 around then too.

Spy fox? The new zealand story? Was searching and these games have blimps but will keep searching...lol

I think were so close. So very close. Lufia really had my hopes up for a minute. Its definitely something like that.

And I could be wrong about it being turned based. I thought that initially but I was playing a lot of games around that same time and I could have mixed it up. It is definitely puzzle based. I remember a lot of moving rocks and going around what seem like mazes.

The only specifics I can remember are going up the levels of a tall tower towards the beginning of the game. Searching around an island for turtles, and maybe a rainbow turtle. The blimp, you get it from taking parts to someone who repairs it??? A cave where the entrance is in the ocean and its blocked by rocks. Something about a vampires castle, and there are evil dolls, and you have to drop them to a level below and then something.

P.S. Its refreshing to come onto a board where new members are welcomed and helped. Thanks for the hospitality.

OMG! I found it. I posted the thing about the rainbow turtle as i remembered it. Then googled, and there it was.

Its called Eternal Eden. (edited, I was so exited I found it I for got to put the name! haha)

Its a PC game, and its fairly new. Thats probably why no one was able to find it. Like looking for a cook book in the fiction section of the library.

Thanks again for you help everyone, and download it and play, I remember it being a lot of fun.

Uh, rules here... =)

If you remember what it was, you have to tell everyone else who helped.

Wow. Sorry.

Haha, I was so excited I found it I forgot to post that part.

Its called Eternal Eden.

I remember so much more now. The story line is laced with religious themes, which kind of salted it for me. But still a good game none the less
