I run my 360 to my monitor with the VGA cable right now (so the picture sux) but it has RCA cables for sound..... if i run the 360 with a hdmi cable, then how can i get sound from the 360 ? do they make HDMI cables with RCA built into them or something ?

It's easy to do with my PS3 because i use the component cable for sound and HDMI for video, but i'm a bit baffled with this one lol

hdmi cables carry sound. you can just run audio cables from the out on your tv to your stereo. if that is not going to work, post more information.

As above, you should have an audio out (up to three - digital out [typically optical], L/R fixed [TV volume control has no effect], L/R variable [TV volume control affects]) on any TV that has an HDMI input.

i want to say you can buy a breakout box that connects to the av out on the box and has rca's and optical.

I didn't even know those adaptor / dongles existed lol. I just bought one off of ebay for $4.79 shipped, not bad, thanks everyone.

The VGA cable comes with an adapter for the RCAs to a mini-jack you can plug into your sound card; are you not using a computer with this monitor?

that is exactly how i am running it right now..... but the picture is better with the hdmi to dvi cable to the monitor instead of the vga cable.
