im having trouble with my X-fi and ventrillo. Everytime a play a game ( mostly BF2) i have to ALT TAB and use the test function so everyone can hear me again. Its very annoying, ill be in vent then someone invites me to play,oh i gotta alt tab again after i load up my game. God forbid i have to exit real quick then come back. Also what sucks is my mic always transmits, when im typing or whatever i hear all my clicks, breathing etc etc. Is their anyway to mute it but only have it activate when i have my key bind activated? its just like my webcam mic, always transmitting.
 
yeah for vent thats fine sorta. I know how to bind it in vent. What im talking about is when im already in vent just talking and say... reading the forums it works fine, key bind and all. Then as soon as i load up game, BF2,CS:S etc it goes dead even tho im pressing my key bind to talk. I can see the green light so i know i'm trying to transmit but nobody can hear me. The only fix i know is while im playing a game is to ALT TAB out of it and test my mic in the setup section. Doing that resets it and everyone can hear me when i press my key bind again.

now when im not in vent, thats a whole new thing. Basically the thing constantly transmits. I'll have my tv on and i can hear the whats on the TV behind me through my headphones. Everything little thing i can hear. Only way to not hear the mic is to turn down the mic nob or unplug it, but this is pain cus i have to turn it up everytime i want to speak. Basically my mic works when i dont want it to, and fails me when i need it.
