whenever i open internet explorer or any explorer to view files or recyle bin.....the desktop goes blank then it comes back and the thing doesnt open
 
I would reccomend doing a full scan for spyware and viruses. For spyware use Adaware and Spybot S&D. AVG is good antivirus program to try. Also make sure windows updates are all complete. Once this is done and if the problem is still there we can start to look at other problem sourses.
 
i found a solution...all i had to do is right click internet explorer and go to advanced and under browsing uncheck third party browser extensions...
 
That means IE was hijacked. I recommend you run hijackthis to try to clean out whatever is there instead of just ignorning it.
