I just got my Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev 3 and installed it on my 9800pro. After I found this gap between the heatsink and GPU (see pic). Is this normal? I cant get it to sit any other way. Thanks.
That little gap looks normal to me. The gap I see in that picture is a result of the GPU chassis design. In other words, the GPU is a smaller square inside a larger square. As long as the smaller GPU square is touching the heatsink you will be fine. That gap appears to be simply space betweent the two squares. You're fine. I have installed 3 of those things on 3 different 9800 Pros and they all looked like that.
I had the same setup and I did not notice any gaps, are you sure you put it on right? But if you can overclock your Pro to XT speeds without cooling problems then that gap is insignificant.
