Hey guys the new cod is coming out and i need better graphics. But when i built my comp 2 yrs ago i didnt think about having a cf/sli board. So i need advice on whats the best option. Get a board and get another 8800gt to sli or get a cf board and get two 4850? or do you guys think an 8800gt is good enough if its just for this one game no need to waste money and save up for an i7 build. thanks

Could you please elaborate on what your goal is with the new card? Explain what you wish to obtain on the FPS front and what resolution your planning to run at. It would also be helpful if you gave a description of your PC the card will be running in.

Thanks

Oooo im sry. Well im on a 22inch wide so that is 1680x1050? I have a q6600 with 4gb gskill ram. the q6600 is oc to 3ghz. dfi blood iron mobo right now. raid raptors. Well basically cod4 looks good on my comp but i know it probably can look alot better on sli or cf. so yeah whats the best option

One additional step I recommend, try out the game with your 8800GT and see if you have an enjoyable experience.

I probably will i mean itll be like co4 but what do you think having cf 4850 will do.

As for looking a lot better I assume your meaning you can't max the game out currently? As for a general recommendation it can be hard on a game that's not available yet. I'd advise you to hold what you have, hope for the best, and if you still feel the need to upgrade I'm sure me or many others here will be around to pitch some advice your way. :)

I can max everything out on cod4. but when i went from 8800gt 256mb to 8800gt512mb i saw big improvement

I don't imagine cod6 is going to be so much more demanding than cod4, just wait and see, if you have to you can turn down your settings until you buy a new card. At 1680x1050 you don't even need a great card, maybe by the time cod6 comes out, the HD4890 will be in the 150$ range and that would play most any game at max settings at 1680x1050 (minus crysis of course)
