Help with upgrade decision.....

I have a C2D E6750. What would anyone recommend for an upgrade. I really dont want to spend more than like 150.00. I play games quite a bit and just upgraded my video card. Let me hear it.

you can score a q9300 for $180

You may as well just overclock it. The best CPU for around that price is the E8400, but it won't give you much benefit in games compared to an overclocked E6750. Unless you get a quad, there isn't much reason for you to upgrade.

I too have a E6750, and agree get a quad.I plan on getting a quad sometime this year.

Overclock the E6750.
Depending which Quad you buy, you might actually see a loss in performance at stock speeds.

I assume we're talking about PC gaming and 'general' computer use.

If you're looking to spend $150 on your system, you're better off buying another 8800GT and going SLI than you are upgrading your processor.

Yeah after much hand-wringing. I bought a GTX 260 just havent changed my sig. I think I may try my hand at OC'ing it. Thats exactly why I asked. Wasnt sure if I would see much of a performance difference by getting a newer but reasonably cheap processor.

Good move - the 260 is a nice deal. You should get a decent overclock out of it.
