help...with temps

Okay...

I have just built my wc setup. Here are the specs on it:

Danger Den Maze4
Pondmaster 250 gph
'71 bonneville core(i got the wrong one)
t-line
100% distilled water(no additives)

My comp specs are:
2.53 P4 northwood @ 3.1
1 gig XMS 3200LL
Abit IS7-E v1.2
msi 9800pro

After getting my the WC system up and running my temps never changed from that of the stock cooler. Is this to be expected with my setup? Here are my before and after temps...

Stock Cooler/ WC Setup
Idle: 40C
Load: 45C

Are these acceptable temps for my setup or should I expect better?

About the '71 core. I accidentally got the 71 core because I ordered it after making the second 7 look like a one when I wrote it down...but it does fit 6 - 80mm fans perfectly. I have 6 32cfm Antec fans on it.

Any help/ advice would be great...I can put picts up later when I find my cable for my digicam. I dont have pretty lights on it though...
 
okay here are two picts


the pump is a 120ac pump. since i work for an electrical distributor and sell lotsa Allen Bradley stuff I controll the pump with a relay from them. Cost me about 15 bucks for the relay, finger safe wiring block, terminal blocks and din rail.....dont have a pict of it handy though. oh well...i broke a fan too...grrr

That's a really beefy setup, it looks industrial. Those cast iron right angles are awesome :D

Edit: the ball valve is also kickass

Edit2: that heatercore looks exactly like the 77'
 
Get a 77 bonneville core and 120mm fans, not any smaller fans.
Other than that, add some coolant (antifreeze, etc), and invest $40 in a swiftech cpu block.
also, make sure you do a good application of thermal paste (arctic silver 5 preferably) on the cpu.
 
yea ive got the artic silver 5 going.

Im going to put 2 120mm fans on as soon as I get them in.

I busted out my dremel and made a shroud and stuff for them to mount to. It was painful cutting the 3.5 drive bay holders out but oh well. I have another case laying around...the chieftech version(got it for free) if I decide on another route.

next week ill be ordering the dd maze 4 gpu and frozencpu copper heatsinks to add. Im guessing after reading and searching that 250gph is plenty to add the gpu stuff to it. if im wrong then someone correct me. :)

I guess i ll try different mixtures of water and antifreeze when I get back to my place...business trips are no fun. :(


edit: the wires and stuff are way more cleaned up than that as well...ill get a pict of the relay up as well...i like it as it has a manual operater on it to help me prime the system :).

Ill also be adding a plug to the rear of the case so i can unplug the pump and not have to drag around the cord...which sucks
