im currently running two 80gb hitachi deskstars in raid 0. everything works fine, in fact im posting on this very rig with the raid array ATM. I just got my seagate st3300622AS HD. Im trying to use it as a single storage drive. However when i boot up and get into windows, it detects the drive in that safely remove hardware wizard icon thingy on the bottom right. After that, it a prompt comes up looking for nvraid.sys. So yeah i just cancel that as i dont know what that is and it says new hardware set up could not be installed problems may occur.

when i go to the disk utility in window it doesnt see the blank seagate drive to format. I use the included cd in the box and then the wizard only sees my hitachi raid, not my seagate. Any suggestions on where to start to get this thing up and running? rest of the specs in my sig.

Is this an external drive?

On a side note, you would be far better off going with two drives mirrored to store your data and one dedicated to OS and apps. The slight increase in speed for your striped setup does not really justify putting all of your data at risk.

no its internal. its larger than my raid-0 array 300GB vs 190GB unformatted. All crucial info is already on a seperate external 40gb drive and will now be put on the 300gb seagate as well once i get it up and running.
