First things first...I'm amazed this community has grown so big. It's been a little while since I've posted anything here and it's great to see these forums thriving still.

Well, as I mentioned in the title, I'm a little "behind the times" and haven't been keeping up with computer stuff like I used to. I'm looking to build a fairly high-end system (no I'm not talking multi-processor Opteron systems or anything), that will be used for video and audio editing and of course gaming :-P In general I would prefer Intel based chipsets, although I am willing to consider nVidia, ATi, Via and whoever else I missed. Aside from the computer itself, I am also looking for a 20"-24" LCD. Dell 1905's, 2005, and 2405 used to be the "pack leaders" but I don't know if they are anymore. As for other peripherals, an excellent scanner, (photos/negatives will be scanned), is a must. (Epson used to be the one of the best...are they still?) And of course, a photo-printer to go along with all of this.

I'd certainly appreciate any help/guidelines you guys can give me. Thanks in advance!
