Help with sound!

This is an OS, Sound, Networking, and gen hardware question all rolled into one.

I have 3 computers. 2 Monitors - thus I remote into my 3rd box that controls the speakers. Remote desktoping into the 3rd machine which has an audigy to creative 5.1 system I like my sound. If i login via remote desktop and leave sound there or even bring it over to my laptop the sound is killed. The drivers do not work, but If i login normally at the prompt from the computer (by hooking up my monitor and keyboard), all is well. How do i fix this?
