Well my Game theater XP is starting to die, and after something like 6 years I am now back in the market for a sound card. The problem I am running into is that I realy like the break out box that the GTXP has. Idealy I want a sound card with a simmular box, and not one that goes in a 5.25" bay, that has very high audio quality for movies and music. At least 5.1 capabilities, though 7.1 would be nice. I am not that concerned about gaming proformance, most of the time I use it for music and movies.

So does anyone know of a sound card that might fit the bill?

Thanks,
CFlux

Well, looks like the Creative Audigy2 fits the bill. Good sound quality, performance, and the breakout box that fits into the 5.25" bay. I can't remember the exact model name, but it is really good for what you want, its really good for movies and music :) .

I'm very happy with my audigy. Cheese is good too
