Help With Shuttle SN27P2 Audio

Hey all, having a problem with the audio on my 27P2, the mic isn't working properly. I have a Sennheiser PC150 headset which worked fine on my old PC, but on this one, you can hardly hear yourself when talking in Windows Sound Recorder (only used for testing), via Skype and you just get major 'sampling" when testing it in BF2 an BF2142.

By sampling i mean you press the test button and it seems to record a half second of the menu music and play that back then start putting that same 'sample' over the top of whats there till you get one big mess of noise, you speak an you can faintly hear the first letter you say but the sound just goes nuts after that. Happens in both bf2 an 2142.

Have the current BIOS for the shuttle (sn27s00w.bin) an the latest drivers for my audio from both the shuttle site (30/10/06) an even tried direct from Realtek (30/12/06) but no joy.

In the Realtek Sound Properties - Microphone tab, i have 'acoustic echo cancelation' on an 'noise supression' on.

In the Mixer tab i am unable to adjust the volume on any Input device, i can only mute them. In the Mic tab it suggests that you 'disable output' for both the mic an line in. Doing that, you get NO sound in Sound Recorder, same thing happens in bf2/2142 still, re-enable them and you can record sound but no change in bf2/2142 appart from you can just hear the first letter of the first work you say.

Need help as I use(d) VoIP a lot in those games and it really hampers gameplay not being able to speak, plus i'm all outa ideas.

BTW - yup was a fresh Windows build, fresh install of bf2142 (couldn't get bf2 to install all the way but had a good working install directory structure i used and it plays fine).

Cheers Dp2k, i managed to get it working. Cant remember exactly how but i fiddled some more, turned on Mic Boost on the Output tab and disabled Line In, set Record to Mic - Pink Front (had done that previous) and it working in both 2142 and 2 . . . go figure . . .
