hello, need a little help choosing my new ram, never really looked into buying high performance ram before, never really had the money :p , but now i've decided to go for it, but i dont really know what would be best for me, so if i give you an idea what i'm wanting could i have a little advice?
right i am looking for 2gb kit, i've narrowed my choices to these three kits

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR CAS2

G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 or G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200

now i do intend to try and keep my current OC as close to it as possible, but i've been reading that its usually faster to run PC3200 on a divider with the tighter timings than running pc4000 at 1:1 with the slacker timings.

i'll give you my specs just in case it makes any difference.
A64 3700 SD@2.75 (250x11)
Geil value 1gb stock timings, T1, 180mhz divider.
MSI K8n Neo4 F
C3D X1900xtx
Tagan TG580-U15
Audigy2 ZS platinum

now i'm leaning towards the pc3200 but i dunno wether to go G.Skill or OCZ.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i would rather run the DDR500 with looser slightly looser timings, but thats my opinion. If you plan to stay at DDR400, get the OCZ, if you plan to run at DDR500 get the Gskill. Chances are the Gskill wont get as tight as the OCZ at DDR400 so you make your decision.

I have OCZ DDR500 Samsung UCCC 2x1GB sticks and they are great they OC to 280MHZ and the G.SKILL ones are the same UCCC chips,

I would highly recommend any samsung UCCC RAM doesnt matter what company

IMO

oh and i am always first in the BF2 games :)

GSkill ZX ftw. I've always scored better with slightly lower MHz and tighter timings.. actually here's what I came up with

312x9 166div@255 3-4-4-8 30,xxx sec 1Mpi
312x9 150div@234 2.5-3-2-6 29.xxx sec 1M pi

That's all I can remember, but I've gotten the ZX to 250MHz 2.5-3-2-5 @ 2.53v fully stable :) That will be better than 3-4-4-8 up to like 320Mhz any day
