Help with printer/scanner

I have an HP 1210 All in one, and I am trying to use the HP Photo and Imaging software to scan a document.

When I open up that program, and choose scan, there is nothing in the "select source" window. Why isn't my printer/scanner showing up? It is installed, as I can print.
 
you installed the scanner driver? install the software taht comes w/ it you can see a HP DI
RECTOR after you install, basically you'll do everything (scanning/printing/faxing/copying) in the director software.
