Hi guys my friend is goin to college next semester and needs an already built comp designed for doing designing graphics, he plans on using, lightwave, photoshop, flash programs on the pc etc.

i was just wonderin if there is a different type of computer he would need and which one would you reccomend

PCs are much better that Crapples because they are faster and cheaper. They'll cost about half as much as a Crapple. Just have him buy a Dell/HP/Compaq if he wants a prebuilt one. He doesn't sound very computer savy, s getting something with a strong warranty is a better option. If he was computer savvy, he'd just build his own.
 
pc's are more than good enough to do the job. i have often heard that apples are better for graphics design, and i use photoshop on a g4 at school, but i see no difference in performance between it and my pc at home.(except that it's faster because my computer is a pos) but we also play mohaa over the lan in my new media class :), and it's soooo freaking annoying not being able to install any other games on the machines because they aren't compatible with windows ish. i'd get a pc at this point simply because of compatibility issues, but macs are ok by me as well.
