I have an NEC 3540A in my Shuttle (SB75S) and it's been working fine for me until I put a different disc in today. I go to Windows Explorer/My Computer to open it up and the DVD drive isn't there. I uninstall the drive from device manager and reboot, it is found and installed and the problem persists.

The weird thing is that before and after doing that the drive would still work. If I type the drive letter in to the address bar I can pull up the drive and BF2 will still see the DVD and load (it won't if there's no disc in the drive).

For now I've put a shortcut to the drive on my desktop, but if anyone has seen this and knows how to fix it, I'd appreciate the help!

Well I have the DVD drive situation working again after updating the firmware, but that isn't what fixed it. It's now assumed drive letter G, not E. As a result if I use my external hard drive, it assumes letter E and is invisible in My Computer.

So it's not the drives, it's the drive letter which is invisible. I'm going to try in another forum.

Thats an akward problem... nothing comes to mind right now as to why E: would be invisible.

Yeah, right now I am completely lost. A wipe isn't on my list, and if E: is just wonky I'll avoid it until I can find a fix. I don't want to do a repair either, this should be fixable, I just don't know where to look to fix it.
