I recently built a PC with the following specs:
A64 3000+
Sapphire 9800 Pro 128MB
1 GB Corsair XMS PC3200
Seagate SATA 160GB
MSI K8N Neo Platinum
Antec Sonata Case

This computer is running horribly on call of duty(only game i have right now). Both single player and multi it doesnt matter. I've tried changing every setting down to lowest with no AA/AF and i still drop to 19 on some maps which just drives me nuts making me stop playing. At this point my 3 week old $1000 investment is an internet browsing machine. Any suggestions on what i can do/try would be appreciated, i've tried 5 different sets of drivers for the ATI and played with the AGP aperture settings but i still get choppiness. Help stop me from throwing my comp out the window :(

thats odd, your pc should be running fine

give us more details

what kinda OS?
what monitor? (i think this may be the bottleneck)
what psu?
keyboard, mouse, table, house, etc etc etc!!!!

;)

Win XP Pro
Crappy 5 y/o gateway monitor, 19". Could this really be a bottleneck?
PSU is the antec true380S that comes with the sonatas. Btw another problem my cpu is running at 61C/case 50C under full load (not constant, fan cranks up and drives it back down to 57) but that's still really high :(. I even installed a second 120mm fan but this doesnt help too much.
