1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
PC will be used for light gaming, streaming, photoshop, lightroom, web browsing.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$400 total.

1920/1080 lcd tv connected via hdmi. Will be upgraded in the next 6 months.

Between now-2 weeks.

Yes Windows 7 64bit and can upgrade to Windows 10.


I am looking to upgrade our office/hobby pc. (Currently that pc has a Q6600, Gigabyte EP45 MB, 8GB RAM)
New MB, CPU and 16GB of RAM.

Open to AMD or Intel.

I would keep an eye on this page : https://slickdeals.net/deals/desktop/ to see if any deals pop up... but really from a c2duo to now you will see a huge improvement even the current atom chips are on par with that beast. But from the looks of past deals you can get a full system with an i5 or better for around your budget. Thank you for the suggestion! I went to my local Fry's and they were of course out of stock on their current deal for this week.
Oh well... gotta keep looking!
 
To second Bandages initial point, the am3 and fm2 sockets are pretty much eol wit the new am4 amd platform on the way. So there could potentially be some killer deals both to clear out the older inventory and hopefully it will directly compete with intels stuff.

Sorry about the frys trip, hopefully a new deal will pop up for you.
