EVGA 1300gt
LG 5k2k Oled

So these are the changes or potential changes:

I need more raw muscle to push the 5k2k, on some games I have been able to adjust settings and use upscaling to make games playable, but I think it's time to get it something to run those resolutions a bit better.

I ordered a MSI OC trio 5090. It's coming in tomorrow. I almost got the water cooled one, but I thought for longevity I didn't want to worry about water pump failure in a few years and possible incapability with my 90 degree case.

Now here is the big question.

Would I see enough lift at beyond 4k upgrading from the 5800x to the 9850x3d?

MicroCenter has a deal now.
They are doing a deal by adding Gskill 32GB F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5 for $200 if you buy a processor bundled or processor/mobo combo.
The shuffled the deals around and the difference between getting the MSI mobo and the ASUS X870E-E ROG Strix Gaming WiFi is closer to $150 more.

Is my Noctual U12P SE1366R going to be enough cooling?

You guys see any better options?

Soooo subjective. But I'll play... slap your 5090 in tomorrow and see if it does what you're looking for, my bet is that will be enough. The real question is how do you live close to a microcenter and still on AM4 with a 5090 budget. :)

Story behind it was before that I was running the first Ryzen processor before 1700.
The plan was that it would hold until AM5.

Just graduated college.

Found a 6950xt open box at a price I couldn't refuse at at MC. This was around the time when cards were expensive due to scalping and greed.

Computer died when I was about to drop in the 6950xt. This was a few months before AM5 came out.

I had to put something together at that point until I was making bread, and honestly it did a pretty good job until my demand rose.

The microcenter thing. I'm an hour away so it's a long trip. I don't like going to Boston unless I need to. I can't complaint though, some people are too far to make the trip.

you can look at your gpu usage if it get low in games you actually play at the settings you want, not perfect but that could be a clue that a cpu upgrade could help, native 5k2k is a lot even for a 5090
