Hello,

Im just new to the liquid cooling world, so I apprciate any comments or recommendations you can give to me...

This is my system:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 (internal support for 3x120mm radiator)
Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i7 930 2.8Ghz (I wanto to overclock to 4.5Ghz - 1.42V)
Video: 2x EVGA GTX 580 Hydro Cooper 2 (3/8" barbs) (manufactured liquid cooling) (not installed yet)

---------------

I want to be sure the cooling system I am bulding, have enough power to work correctly with my system.
The other thing I want is to install it internal to my case and to be as quiet as possible.

This is my product selection:
(I am using a complete Koolance solution, but I can change if there is a better choice)

-----------------------

CPU Water Block:

1x CPU-360 CPU-360 (CPU), Rev1.2
1x NZL-V10BP Nozzle Pair, Barb [For ID: 10mm (3/8")]

Radiator:

1x HX-CU1020V Radiator, 3x120mm, Copper (High Flow)
1x NZL-V10BP Nozzle Pair, Barb [For ID: 10mm (3/8")]
3x FAN-12025HBK Fan, 120x25mm (FAN-12025HBK)
1x CBL-NX006P 4-Fan Wiring Harness, 3-Pin

Pump and Resorvoir:

1x RP-1000BK Reservoir and Pump, RP-1000BK, Black
1x NZL-V10BP Nozzle Pair, Barb [For ID: 10mm (3/8")]

Tubing and Coolant:

15x HOS-10OR Tubing, Orange UV-Reactive PVC, 1ft/30.5cm [ID: 10mm (3/8"); OD: 13mm (1/2")]
1x LIQ-702RD-B Liquid Coolant Bottle, High-Performance, 700mL (UV Red)
1x VLV-10TSPL Drain Valve [ID: 10mm (3/8")]

SLI Adapter:

1x CNT-VDA34 Dual VID Connector, Adjustable 2-3 Slot Spacing

Other Questions:

I am using, barb nozzles, will be better to use compression fittings???
Would be better to use a serial or a parallel loop???

Thanks for your help !!!

If I assume 300 watts for GPUs and CPU, then that's 900watts total. I see only 1 radiator (unless my eyes are playing tricks), that won't be enough. I'd recommend 2 3x120mm radiators for that beast of a setup.

I tend to agree with Nightbird, on this one. As soon as you get into SLI setups with an i7, you'll need a lot of surface area.

With regards to the barbed fittings, I think barbed with hose clamps are superior to compression. Easier to install and adjust, not to mention super watertight.

Thanks for your comments !!!

If I am correct, adding two radiators, means I also have to add an additionnal pump???, an run the two loops separate from each other???

What do you thinks of the overall solution, is the pump enough for the cpu loop, and other pump for the gpus loop???

Thanks!!!

Are the kkolance solution all right??? or there are any better options???

Thanks

I was told that for my sli 470s and my i7 920 an xspx 360mm rand and an xspc 120mm rad would be fine. I however went with a 360mm and a 240mm just for a bit of extra headroom. I think as long as you add the 120mm rad you should be fine.

This thread has great information on 3x120mm radiators. I personally use the Swiftech radiator which has the best bang for the buck, but I also use the Swiftech MCP 655 pump which I thought to be fairly expensive, 75$ i think.

See my sig for a picture of my getto test system.

I think a powerful pump similar to the 655 + 2 3x120mm radiators of your choice will be good if you can fit it all.

Your loop should be: reservoir > pump > radiator > CPU > radiator > GPU1 > GPU2 > reservoir

A good pump is important if you go with one long loop, but it will perform fine.

Two loops with two pumps or having two pumps in one loop setups will obviously be more expensive, but will also work.

I'm not trying to advertise for Swiftech though! Find what works best for your setup.

Ok thanks again for the help...

I thing I can go with 2 3x120mm radiators, and one 655 pump. I think one of the radiators have to be outside the case, but there are some ways to fit it.

Regarding Koolnace, I think I am going to change my products. As soon as I have a new choice, I will be posting here, to see your comments !!!

Thanks

I'm in the process of gathering the parts to watercool 3 480's and an i7 930 @4.2 in the same case as you.

I'm going to put 2 mcr220's on the inside of the side panel, with fans outside, an mcr320 on top. I'm wondering if that is enough radiator though, maybe I should get a 140mm single for the back, or one of the swiftech mounts for another 220 on the rear outside.

I just bought 2 ek dcp 4.0 pumps, and was thinking of running them together on the same loop instead of a dual loop.

Another really great reason to go with Swiftech if your going with multiple radiators is they have very low flow restriction for there performance. i.e. you will only need one pump.

To fit an external radiator you can use a plastic (?) $20 Swiftec Radbox or a $40 Koolance metal bracket (don't know the name). I'm using the Radbox to hang a 360 rear radiator and I have no complaints, but you obviously don't want to bang it into anything.

You don't need dual loops; that is an outdated and misguided notion for 99% of configurations. All you need is a pump with enough head pressure (MCP-655 is good enough - not as good as the 355 but quieter) and recently made waterblocks that don't heavily restrict flow.

As for Koolance, no one really recommends any of their stuff on any enthusiast sites that I see, and I assume that there are reasons for it. The exceptions are the Exos kits if you need all-in-one external kits and the Quick-fit Disconnects, which don't seem to have caught on but are highly useful, albeit pricey.
