Help with new sound card

I just installed a new sound card (A maddog prowler 4.1 dsp) to replace my ondoard nvidia chipset, which had been giving me problems.

but now, when I go to play most games, the computer locks upand emits a clicking sound from the speakers. I have disabled onboard sound.
