Help with new memory please

Hi I'm new to this. I have a amd fx-55 with a msi neo 2 nforce 3 motherboard a bfg 6800 gt video card with a 74gb raptor and a viewsonic vp201s 20 inch monitor. I have 2x512 of memory of corsair twin x 1024-3200 c2pt. I ordered two more of these 2x512 same as first ones I bought (found a great deal on zipzoomfly) to have a total of 2gb of ram. Do I have to do anything or will it recognize the memory right away automatically? And will I see any positive or negative things with 2gb compared to 1gb. Any information would be really appreciated
 
well, with 4x512mb, your command rate will drop to 2T, giving a 10-15% latency hit.. and i think the msi board will force 166mhz, but you can overclock to fix that
