Help with my X850XT temps

I am having problems with CS:Source and my new X850XT still. I played for about half an hour without any problems then all of a sudden the messed up "checker board" textures starting coming back. Once a wall or model is messed up it stays that way, it doesn't come and go. I am running at stock speeds, but RivaTool said my core was at 57 C when the game was running. Isn't that pretty hot for the core at stock speeds? The ambient temp is about 39 C or so when the card is running. Should I exchange it or do you not think the card is at fault?
 
Well its not really black and pink, its more black and grey but I have seen pink on the floors a few times. What is it then if it isnt my video card?
 
have you spoken with ATI support, i would and then possibly get an RMA, 57 degrees is not all that alarming though, 80-85-90 thats somthing to worry about. good luck
 
Verify if your GCF files are good by going steampowered.com's GFC support page, make sure your CS:S files are properly organized.
 
I verified the steam files, but that didn't help. Has anyone ever had a bad card or is it really something else? How could it be the driver, isnt this game "preferred for HL2" ? I get the same problem in HL2 BTW: It starts out fine but once I have been playing for a few minutes more and more of the textures become black and white checkers until all of the textures are.
