Specs:

Asus P5Q-E
Intel Q9550
2x 2GB Corsair Dominator
Zalman 9700
Antec 1200 case (plenty of airflow)


Running at 412FSB (3.5 Ghz)
Vcore: 1.26 (actual idle: 1.24v, actual load 1.22-26v)
FSB Term: 1.2v
NB: 1.3v
RAM: 2.1v
SB/CPU PLL: 1.5v (lowest setting)


Running Prime95

In the first 10 min or so the temps were: (read from Everest)

CPU: 54C
Core1(hottest core): 55C

4 Hrs later came back to temps of:

CPU: 74C
Core1:56C

Why in the world are my cores staying within reasonable range but my CPU is getting into dangerous temp ranges? I ran coretemp also and the temps of the cores match up with what everest is reporting. My voltage is pretty conservative whats going on??

Also after stopping prime95 for about 10 min the temps are now reading (and staying consistent at these for the last 5 min or so):

CPU: 50C
Core1: 35C

What the heck is going on?

See and somtimes like right now, it says 112C for the CPU...but in the 30C range for my cores....wonder if a bios update is in order im gonna look for one :)
