Hi guys. I have around 200 bucks to spend on a nice lcd monitor. I want 20.1+ But I don't really know.

I play hardcore counterstrike:source for 6+ hours a day. The best thing I could come up with is a SCEPTRE X20WG-Naga Black 20.1" 5ms for only 199.99 after rebates.. Should I pounce on this now? Or just wait? Or save and buy something better?

It would be a year or so before I can save up 100.... so the 199.99 for a 20.1 is NOT a good deal??

you could grab a fairly good 19in widescreen [acer al1916wabd] for that price. It will be tight to find a decent 20.1 incher at that price though.

Eh.. My question was that I found a 199.99 20.1 inch LCD on newegg.com and I was wondering if it was a good deal...

what you need to do is not play counter strike everyday for 6 hours and get a job during those 6 hours for like 2 weeks to get 100 dollars more to buy a decent lcd.

This would be $260, and would have 2000:1 contrast and 2ms refresh rate, would be a GREAt monitor:

This one only has 500:1 contrast but is 19" widescreen, 4ms refresh rate and is $180:

Guys, don't bash him, this is his first lcd. My first lcd was a Sceptre 19" lcd too, now one of my pcs uses dual crts, one of my pcs uses a 2007wfp and the sceptre, my laptop uses it's display and a samsung lcd, and my main desktop uses a 2407 and a samsung lcd.

You gotta start somewhere, never big.

But to be honest, sceptre is a good/decent model. I'd go with it for your first lcd.

Watch out man, once you go lcd, it'll become a disease...

Finally some great input.. And where I live fresh 16 year olds have a hard time getting a job that doesn't involve flipping burgers.

I personally wasn't bashing, but I would recommend him to stay with CRTs. Hardcore gamers who have always used CRTs will notice the difference between the LCD to a CRT (I clearly do). CRTs are just plain superior for gaming.

Now, if you insist in getting an LCD I wouldn't get that LCD you saw for $200, I would save up about $70~100 more and get a good LCD monitor.
