Right now im running a old ass 600mhz duronn overclocked at 1000. Been runnin stable for a few years everything is good, until one day i was playing wc3 and then all of a sudden the cpu fan stopped working, I can tell because the fan is mad loud right now, anyways I turn it of a.s.a.p and let it sit for a bit, turn it back on and now it wont work. It doesnt beep, even if I take out my ram it doesnt beep, the cdrom lights are all lit, all the leds on the case is lit the only way to turn off the computer is the switch on the power supply.

Anyways, i was thinking it was the cpu right since I thought it may be burned, but now I went and grabbed a friends athlon and same thing happen, no beep at all even with no ram and all lights are on, so I am thinking MOTHERBOARD? anyone know, thanks

just a thought

i know some motherboards wont start without the cpu fan plugged in

not sure if there will be beeps or not

My comp will not start up if the CPU fan is not plugged in. NO beeps or anything. I learned this the hard way. I thought it was my PSU that went but after switching it out and having no luck, I saw the little 3 pin connector just dangling, and then proceeded with my acceptance speech for asshat of the year award.
