Hello, I have been having a problem with my mouse pointer drifting to the left or to the left and up for quite some time now. This happens while the mouse is not moving, I am using a 3M Precise Mousing Surface and a Logitech M-BD58 Optical mouse. BTW, this happens ramdomly and with any program or just the desktop. A slight moving of the mouse when this happens usually halts the drift.

Thanks for any input regarding this including searches that reveal more than I have found so far.

I had this problem with a Logitech optical mouse. I fixed it by putting it in the garbage :D

I had that with some 5 dollar mouse that had to be about 6 years old. But as soon as i moved it it would stop.

Now that i think of it i also had it with a Logitech Wireless Optical mouse, but that was from throwing it down the stairs i think.

I think i just pinpointed my problem on a DELL Latitude Laptop. I use Logitech USB mouse.

I tried port mouse, same thing....After boot it's OK, till I turn the laptop on side or it seems if I touch the keypad hard. I can use touchpad and Logitech USB mouse together.

I then realise I cannot disable the touchpad like on my other HP laptop[no problem here].
For one or other reason the touchpad software got removed, so I downloaded the driver from Dell and install it. Then have three options regarding the touchpad:
1-I can disable the pad..[Only one thing at a time]
2-or I can disable the keys surrounding it
3-..or I can disable that purple tit in the keybord surrounded by keys G,H and B.

Result:
1-disabling the pad made no diff.
2-Disablimg the purple tit did the job...So the tit on the keybord is causing this irratating problem..So I need a newc keybord it looks.

Hope the info was worth anything to somebody.....Tit="Pointing Stick"
