Bought this monitor last weekend. My problem is that even with the brightness on 0, I don't achieve black. Kind of distracting in Doom3, as it makes the game very bright. I'm using the dvi on a geforce 6600gt video card. Does this sound like the monitor is defective?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Even at the optimal settings (according to best colour rendering) you cannot achieve a really deep black.
It is not a question about brightness setting, it is because of the polarizers. They will let some light pass even if the liquid crystals twist in the exact right position.

You can achieve a relative fine black at some settings but not perfect.
