So I broke my pc160sks and I am looking for a new headset.
I have a Creative X-fi Xtrememusic sound card. I am a big gamer but like music also while doing work. I use ventrilo and skype for work and play(everyday).

So my major issues are

1. 5.1 or not? How is the sound quality on 5.1 sets?

or should i go with a good high quality set and use the simulated surrond sound on the creative software.

2. Do i need an amp? my pc160sk were not loud at all.

3. Should i go with a directional Mic and get a better headphone?

and if i go for a headphone without a Mic which mics are good for what i mention above.

4. Will $150 be enough for the set+mic or a combo.

5. Will they be sturdy? I break headsets easily. So are slinky cords the way to go? I run over my wires with my chair constantly.

6. Comfort. I have glasses and I will be wearing them alot.

I was looking at the Medusa 5.1 Home setup but they seem rather cheap(never mind forget them, I just seen the thread over at TomzHardware) but I fear buying something without an amp anymore since my last 2 sets were very low. Some one told me the grado sr125s were nice. Everywhere I look i seem to see alot of issues no matter which path i venture. How are the Razor headsets? Do they work with the X-FI?

Any help would be appreciated.
