Ok well i got some heavy duty chest handles from home depot and it says there for use with heavy boxes and stuff. I wanna use it on my case, but the screws it uses doesnt use washers. It says just drill a 7/64 hole and just screw the stuff in, is that all? is that safe?

Im scared that it wont hold the case, sinces theres not washer or anything, what do i do??
 
Yeah, screw them in after you drill the hole, but you may want to get a large nut that you can thread onto the screw from the inside of the case, so it will have something to grab.
 
I assume the screws still use nuts on the inside of the case, right? How many screws does each handle use? If they use four you might be fine. If they use two then you probably will want to use washers. Also, if the nuts are fairly small, you might want to go ahead and use washers. You might be able to get away without using washers, but if you want to be safe then just go ahead and use them.
 
If you don't think your case is strong enough to hold, buy another sheet of steel and place it under the top of the case. drill holes through both the case top and sheet steel and bolt through both of them.

edit: oh yeah and don't use sheet metal screws. replace them all with machine screws and use lock nuts on the bottom side, they will hold better.
 
Use fender washers on the inside of the case. They are washers, that are bigger than normal, but with a small hole. Would give you a nice contact area to spread the weight when you pick up the case.

anyways i have a bunch of washers so should i use alot of em or what?
 
They are not like regular washers. Like I said, they are bigger, but have a smaller hole. Perfect for what your trying to do. They usually have them in the plastic baggys for 90cents or whatever at HD and Lowes.
