I was wondering if anyone here has a link for, or can post a walkthrough for working with fiberglass. Has to be for a complete nube to fiberglass ;) I bought a 5gal container of fiberglass resin (big metal can of one part, 2 small tubes of the hardener), but I'm not sure what else I might need before working with it. Do I have to get a roll of the tape stuff or what?

Hi SHeldron, thanks for the grats on the phone job. Could not have won without all the votes from you guys.
As for your fiberglassing work, i think the reason your post is light on replys is because the subject is so complex and dangerous. You should really get online or over to a library and read up on this work. Making mistakes with fiberglass can cost you a lot more than money, it can ruin your health. Those catalysts are really bad news and you must get a high quality niosh approve resperator with the appropriate filters before working with or sanding fiberglass. What kind of resin did you buy, is it polyester or epoxy?

Hey bonzanego, I bought the epoxy resin. (I would give you a link to the exact stuff I bought, but the NAPA auto parts website is apparently down for maintenance) It came in a 5 gal can with 2 tubes of hardener. I have a full face resperator with a couple boxes of replacement carbon filters, and will only work with this stuff outside, or in the garage with the door open & a fan blowing in fresh air. I'm wanting to do a few things with it, from a custom enclosure for the subwoofers in my car, to custom shaped panels for a case mod that I'm in the progress of gathering parts for.

I did a fair bit of work with fiberglass when I was installing the electronics in my truck. Construction details here
