Hey urybody, I'm trying to learn a bit about case fans. I love the kind of fans that light up like a neon light when the power hits em. Like bright green, red, or orange.

Only thing is, I don't know the proper name of these fans, so when I'm searching for them at an online hardware store like NewEgg or Tiger Direct, and I type in orange case fan, I get a pic of a case fan that is actually orange plastic.

Can anyone give me a quick lesson in case fans? :D

Thanks, Prozac23 :)

Look for UV reactive fans with 4 built in UV LED's...

Generally they're a semi-see through plastic of whatever colour you want (I assume orange :p)

Those are generally bright. The AC Ryan UV fans are REALLY nice, take a look over at performance-pcs.com

I have a kinda stupid question about the LED fans. Can you turn off the lights? I sleep with the computer in my room, and bright lights may be kinda hard to live with. If not, if you get a fan controller is it possible to turn them off completely?

As far as i know, i think the only solution (with most of them) would be to un-wire the LEDs. I don't know of any fans which allow you to switch the LEDs on seperately.
