Hi guys,
I'm new on this forum.
I just bought and installed an Intel C2Duo 8600 (3.3 Ghz).
I'm running it on an ASUS P5B-deluxe mobo. I've downloaded and installed the latest BIOS for this board (version 1236 of 8.5.2008 - claims to "support new CPUs"). Doing that removed the annoying BIOS message that I got during boot-up that the CPU was not running at full speed.
Yet this CPU still seems to not be running at full speed, that is if I understand the CPU-Z figures rightly.

It has the core speed at 2000.1 Mhz and the multiplier at 6. Surely these figures aren't right for the E8600. Shouldn't they be quite alot higher, even at stock?
Does anyone know what may be wrong?
Thanks alot
Cheers, Ed
