My video card has what looks like a DVI connector.

I purchased a DVI to VGA adapter but it wouldn't fit.

The DVI adapter has a + after all the :::::::: pins, but my video card only has a slot for ----

What kind of adapter do I need?

i believe you have a DVI-D connector on the video card. the DVI-D connector dosent have the analog output of the DVI-I connector. therefore you can only use it with true DVI devices. look on google for some more info on the diffrent types of connectors, and i think that tomshardware also did a writeup on DVI. might be worth a shot. --tom
