Hey a friend of mine just bought a 9700pro and he is complaining about bad FPS (20 tops) in source, he bought this card mainly for hl2, so tell me is he just shit out of luck or is there sumthin he is missing?

Intel p4 2ghz 400mhz fsb
256mb ram
4xagp slot

i told him its prob his ram but he just blows it off :rolleyes:

tips? ideas?
 
first of all your dumb:) joke joke yea its his set up homie and probably his card 2 wit my 9800 xt i still only get like 130 frames. i would recommend more ram :)
 
its proboaly a combination of having only 256 megs of ram and then having an old 400 fsb P4...

QFT, although the 9700 is going to bog at anything above 1024x768 in CS:S. Hell I have a 3.06P4, Gig of PC3200, and a 9800 Pro and I'm worried about my frames, becasue my FP2001 makes me play at 1600X1200. I hope it's still bearable, because I'm not forking out for an X800XT just yet.
