Since my new system was bought for me by family and I love them for it. I have been having problems with heat and pushing it more. Cpu is an Intel 4670K right now @ 4.5ghz 1.180 volts with a cooler master 212 evo. During heavy work or damn summer day the cpu get 80C easy.

Yes I am doing to delid it soon and redo with a better tim inside.

Question is with about $80 what would be my best choice in cooling?

Edit for case. I do not have really an option for anything that is 240mm radiators.

I've seen Corsair H100i for that price, as well as the H100.

Basically, try to find a deal on a 240mm AIO water cooler. I think the best deal I've seen recently is the Cooler Master Seidon 240M for $70 after rebate ($85-$15 rebate) at the egg.

I don't know why people recommend those corsair closed loop coolers. They are only good for a minimal temp change 5-10 degrees versus aircooling not to mention the block will probably crack from heat one day.


hyper212 is honestly the best air cooler IN MY OPINION if you really felt the need to upgrade I would buy a 240 rad kit from XSPC .... off frozencpu website

you will be disappointed if you waste your money on a closed loop corsair cooler. just because it says liquid cooled on the side doesnt mean it gives the true liquid cooled benefits

5-10 degrees is quite a lot, and with Haswell you'll want every bit. The fact is that these larger closed loop systems simply have more cooling capacity than even the best air coolers, and if you can get one for a good price then why not? It's quite a bit cheaper and easier than piecing together a water cooling system.

edit: just noticed OP that you're limited to <240mm systems. NZXT Kraken x40 maybe? Also, to be clear, are you going to re-lid with better TIM? I have signatures turned off so if your case is listed there I can't see it.

Your chip is actually a really good one if you are stable at 4.5 with only 1.18V!
