Those are my choices. Your guys help would be great. After I get the 2500+ to 3200+ I might decide I want to go further. The only reason why i'm only getting 512MB is cuz i'm going to be doing this in a Shuttle SN41G2 and I only have two DIMM slots that are cpable of running Dual Channel.

For 2500+ to 3200+ any PC3200 (DDR400) should do, because it will be running 200x11 and 200FSB its the rated speed, or you just return the ram.

I would recommend

Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200

I can clock my XMS PC3200 (v1.1) to 233FSB Thats DDR466 = PC3700 speed for a lot less plus the lifetime warranty always help.

Mushkin is also great ram.

My spending for the ram is limited to ~$135. Tha's why i didn't put the lvl 2 as one of my choices. I'll see what I can do though. Anymore suggestions would be great.

Go for the level II if you can. The timings are worth the extra $$$. Also, that ram overclocks very well. If you have to go with the ones you listed, I recommend the OCZ Enhanced Latency Series. I was running those for a while in my barton system and they were pretty decent.

what is so special about the lvl two stuff? I know it has really tight timings, but is there anything else that is so special about it?

btw, I'm building this computer for my younger brother, he is mentally diabled, so he isn't going to be using it for what I use my machine for, but I plan on using the shuttle as my lan machine. I thought about using pc2700 but when i read that you can get a barton 2500+ to a 3200+ with pc3200 ram, i changed my mind. I Still need some help deciding, so please help me out.

You can get a barton to 3200+ while using pc2700, you just need to lower the dram frequency in the bios. It is better to have pc3200 though, so you can have high memory speed as well as cpu speed. I like lvl2 mostly becuase of the timings, but it looks freakin awesome too. Also, mushkin always puts the best of the best chips in their Level2.

I would have said the hyper X but thats Ch5 or BH6 and those needs more voltage tahn BH5. I would go with the last ocz.

You can get 2x 256Mb of Kingston HyperX PC3200 at zipzoomfly for $78 each. They're BH-5 guaranteed. Same chips used on Mushkin Level II and that's all that's important.

The Mushkin is a great choice ...Just letting you know about this as well..

eh, price wasn't really an issue. My parents paid for it, so its all good. I built a complete system for $557.00. That pretty good if you ask me. Of course when I go to lan's i'll be putting my fx 5600 in there instead of using the on-board graphics. Thanks very much to all of you that helped. I know that I will be coming back and asking you guys (and girls) for your opinions in the future.

The specs are as follows:

Shuttle SN41G2
nVidia nForce2 chipset
Barton 2500+
512MB pc3200 Mushkin lvl 2
On-board Geforce4 MX
40gig WD HD w/ 8M cache
lite-on 48/24/48/16 combo drive
