ok i am gonna save up and build a new comp ;). here is what i have spec'd out so far...

2 x EVGA 8800GT Superclocked (the red one)
Intel E8400 wolfdale
Corsair Dominator (2 x 1gb)
2 x 150 gig raptors
Thermaltake Armor LCS
240mm fan/side pannel thingy
a extra 3 fan radiator (+ tubes and fittings and blocks and stuff)
PC power and cooling 860W power supply
DVD-RW
G5 mouse
Zalman theater 6 headphone/mic combo

the only thing i need is a motherboard. the one i need HAS to be SLI capable, overclocks well, has at least 1 open PCI slot with 2 dual slot vid cards installed, firewire (not required but i want it...), and SATA and RAID support. sorry, i am not good at mobo choosing yet :D still learning...

Thanks

vga - "the red one", Akimbo? good choice, its dual slotted so it wont run at 90C.
cpu - good choice
ram - Dominators are over priced. you can get perfectly good 2X2GB kits for less. the heat-shielded DDR2 800 sticks from Patriot, Crucial, and Corsair all support a 1000MHz EPP profile (meaning they all clock very well), So I wouldn't worry about any spicific brand.
hdd - ditch the two, get a single velociraptor, if you can wait.
case - all about preferance here
cooling - woa woa wait, you know what your getting yourself into? WCing isn't 1-2-3. "and tubing and blocks and stuff" doesn't sound like you know what your doing too well. I suggest you put a little research into it.
psu - PC P&C 850W. Sounds good, but there are better deals out there, and you don't need that much power.
optical - Samsungs got a new "real" 20X DVD RW, might take a look at it if your into real DVD buring speed.

pmed on the motherboard.

ty for the pm but im not lookin to buy a board this minute but in the coming future. and in the water cooling ill admit im not an expert but i know a fair amount about it. ive done research and all that jazz but if you have anything you want to tell me im always willing to learn!:D

damn that thing is nice. i was lookin at some 15K RPM SCSI drives, which are just crazy. they are for servers and the like, i think. most of them were hotswapable.

and the PC P&C are the best PSU's ive seen for their price/performance. if you have any good ones you know of please tell me.
