Hi: New build. Everything thing is fine, but I'm having a slight issue. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5 MB. I have 3 4-pin System Fan Headers on the MB. I'm using 3 of these 4-pin fan splitters here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...026&cm_re=fan_splitter-_-12-162-026-_-Product

3 of my fans are 4-pin that are PWM controlled here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...8&cm_re=rosewill_120mm-_-35-200-068-_-Product

the other 2 are 3-pin Antec's that came with the case.

I went into the BIOS & set them for Standard speed. Then went into Gigabyte's APP Center & set them for Standard (normal speed)

What happens is when I shut down & come back a few hours later & boot-up, they don't spin. If I go into the APP again & change to any speed, they'll start-up again. BTW....my CPU is fine. Do you think the splitters are the issue? Any insight? I would really, really appreciate any help!

You are using a total of 5 fans, correct? You have 3 PWM fans and two non-PWM fans.

Your motherboard appears to have 5 (PWM) fan headers. CPU, CPU_OPT and 3x System headers.

Can you use all 5 fan headers?

I don't know if this would matter - but are you separating your PWM and non PWM fans? Or do you have a PWM+Non PWM on the same splitter?

Try connecting a single fan to a single header. Does the problem still exist?

What happens if you set your fan speed to maximum in BIOS and then use the APP Center for Standard? Could be that the "Standard" profile does not provide enough voltage/current to your fans at 0 rpm.
You can test this by manually rotating the fan(s) (correct direction) after start up. If they continue spinning - there is your problem.

Go to Gigabytes website and make sure that you have the latest version of their app. I've had problems with the older versions of the app where I had to open the app after bootup to get the app to properly control the fans. The latest version finally seems to have solved this problem, so make sure you have it.

Cloud: I have a total 5 fans (not including my CPU fans) 2-3-pin are on SYS1 2-4-pin is on SYS2 & 1-4pin is on SYM3 headers. My CPU is fine & 2-4-pin is a Push/Pull config. It will work @ FULL spin (A little loud for my tastes)

I'm going to try dwd999 suggestion & try the newer version of Gigabyte's APP file. I bet that's it. It not, I'll checkout your advice. Thank you to the both of you. I'll follow-up when I have an answer.

Many thanks to the both of you. I updated (not the Gigabyte APP) that was up to date. I D/L the newest version of the GB "System Information Viewer" That fixed the fan speed problem! dwd999...You rock! Cloud....Very cool of you as well with your insight. All is well now.
