Help with case choosing

Hi everyone.

First post on the forum, if its in the wrong place im sorry.

Im going to buy a new case for my pc but im lost here.

I need a case that can hold up to 6/8 harddrives, plus the optical ones and 1 floppydrive.

Can someone please give some sort of idea on what the best case to buy?

A bit more info'd be useful - is cooling a priority? Do you want it to be quiet? A window in the side, any particular aesthetic taste, such as door panels? Only, i think there's quite a few cases which would do what you want

Myself along with many others typically wont reccomend you Thermaltake, unless they have turned over a new lead with their latest cases. As for myself...I am QUITE a picky case chooser. A few things about myself
#1) NO Ugly colors unless I plan on painting the drives (which have never done). So I always have black cases
#2) Must have a door - exposed drives just looks tacky to me
#3) Features Features Features! It must have plenty of features while at the same time very sturdy. My current case, the Thermaltake Tsunami which I thought would be cool at the time, I particularly hate how flimsy it is (except the door which like accounts for 50% of the whole case weight.
As for my reccomendations - I cant say much because I am currently waiting on a good case to come out myself. But If I had to say one - I would say basic Chenming / Antec cases I have had ZERO problems with them. Not to say that they are the best, but I have had NO Problems with them, but have never been satisfied feature wise either.
 
really? I have a friend with a black thermaltake tsunami and it seems pretty solid, though also noisy, to me. I intend to get a silverstone SSTJ-05 (silver) and paint it white - most scrumptious!
 
Sure the door is solid.....3" Steel solid hehe. But the mirror coating paint, while a great feature, is pretty easily to scratched off (to reveal an ugly white color), and the whole fingerprint thing is just horrible. You cant touch it without fingerprints showing up everywhere. On to the side panel, easily pretty bendable, but not the cheapest ive seen. Take a look on the inside. First thing I noticed, was the Hard Drive Bay.....I thought to myself, no need to worry about this breaking, I can just make a new one by bending coke cans together :rolleyes: Mabie im expecting too much from cases ? Im not sure, but im definetly waiting for a new one.
 
Cooler Master or Lian-Li if you want a nice one, but they're pricey.

Screw Thermaltake, they suck.

Hit Newegg.com and look around til you see a few you like and then post that here, other than that what you asked is pretty vague.
 
Hmm - i can honestly say that Coolermaster are very ovverrated; the wavemaster's been their flagship case for ages, and it cost more than the far superior TJ-05, or Antec cases. It's dated, the features are standard in nearly all cases now, and the cooling options are limited and prone to high noise levels
 
I agree - They do have a new line - but everyone says the new Wavemaster sucks. I honestly hope some real good competition with cases comes.
 
....I woudnt say that after what my case did a few months ago :eek: pwned.

Id prefer a case which does not have a window on the side. The noise isnt much of a problem and cooling isnt much of a priority because i do not intend on overclocking nothing.

I'll check the cases that have been recomended. If u have anyother suggestions please let me know.
