1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Very little gaming (WoW, BioShock), Photoshop, Web Browsing, Watching streaming media (Hulu).
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
No real budget.
3) Where do you live?
NY
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
I'd like to base my system, off of the I5-750, with a 640GB harddrive. Other than that, I need everything.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I'm not reusing any parts.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No overclocking.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I currently use an HP2275W. I may upgrade, to a 24" monitor, in the future.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within the next 3 weeks.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
I don't need any special features.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
No, I'll be purchasing a new Win7 OS.

I don't update my equipment very often. So, if it costs a bit more, for higher quality parts/specs, I'd rather pay for it now. Thanks for all your help.

Why the 640GB HDD? It uses 320GB platters which are slower than 500GB/platter drives.

I love "no real budget" builds...

$2350 + tax and shipping

it's not how i'd spend my money, but that is one killer system... too bad you wanted the i5 and 640GB, though... could still be better, especially with no budget constraints. ;)

Oh, I forgot kb/mouse/monitor... bleh. G15, G9, and Dell 24" Ultrasharp.

I guess I shouldn't have said "open budget". I certainly don't want to spend 2500, for my rig. So, how about $1200. Any other suggestions?? No monitor. Thanks ... Al

Thanks everyone, for your suggestions. I'm in the midst of reading through the General Hardware threads. I'm getting more familiar, with the various hardware configurations. The more I read, the more I learn. I'll make my decision, by next week. All your suggestions are much appreciated. Man, this is a great forum

Al ..

post your build list before you buy, so we can double check it. ;)

I've read through alot of threads. I feel pretty comfortable, with this configuration. I'm always open for suggestions. I don't mind being criticized. I've got alot to learn. One of my co-workers will assist me, in the buildout.
