I picked up my new system yesterday with the case being the p180. So far It's bittersweet, the case is awesome but I have the annoying bendy warped front door. The power supply area is cramped as heck but I can live with these as the rest of the case is great.

The problem I am having is mounting the drive rails to my DVD drive and floppy. I screwed them into the side of the DVD drive as per the instructions but am I supposed to slide the drive from inside the case to the outside for it to click into place? If I have to do that my heatsink/fan get in the way and it is really really hard to do this.

I tried to slide it from the front of the case to the inside but the rails get stuck when pushing it through. I put an elastic around the ends of the rails to pull them close to the drive and tried to slide it from the front to no avail.

The floppy drive simply will not slide in with these attached. I have tried screwing them into the top and botton holes on the DVD drive.

Google and [H] search have not provided any help so anyone that can give me some guidance would be my hero.

You're supposed to slide the DVD rom drive in from the front so that they click into place. Now, since you don't have any pics of what your problem is, i cannot see what you are doing wrong. The drive rails can be mounted with them aligning with the top holes on the drive or the bottom holes. Mine are mounted using the bottom holes. The drive rails can also be slid front or back to make sure the drive sits in the case properly. You will need to do some "trial and error" with mounting the rails on the drive to make it fit properly. There isn't "one and only one way" that the drive rails get mounted to optical drives. Some optical drives are physically longer than others.

In order to install rails, you need to mount them so that the clips face forward, and you slide the drive in throught the front. I found this image which illustrates how the rails are oriented and how they should be pushed in:

As for the floppy drive, MAKE SURE YOU USE THE FLOPPY RAILS!
Many people use the standard rails and get into the same situation as you, so make sure you're using the shorter rails. If I remember correctly the shorter rails are in the little carboard box in the case.

Thanks Quad that picture helps alot, I was using the rails incorrectly. I copied the way the hard drive rails looked.

Thanks for the help guys.
