ok so does anyone recomend a small powersupply and small bobo with built in s-video or one with only an agp slot ? the xbox will only have one HD and one dvdrom drive and needs usb and lan or 802.11b thanx for the help guys

I'd recommend using a Shuttle Power supply as they tend to be the smallest PSU's that should fix the Xbox Case. Whatever motherboard you get, make sure that the CPU cooler is a low profile model (preferrably from a Rackmount LP unit). What CPU are you looking to install in this? AMD/Intel/?

i dunno which ever motherboard i can find that has S-video and is small enough to fit inside and xbox man this isent going to be easy

Well, measure and post back the physical motherboard dimensions that the current Xbox motherboard uses. Then check to see if m-ATX boards will even fit, though I suspect you are going to have to go with an ITX VIA EPIA M1000. It has TV out and s-video out, plus the board is extremely small.

you guys wouldnt know a cheaper way i wanna keep this project under $500 cdn

as an alternative to Shuttle Psu's you can try looking for 1U PSU's... they might be longer, but they are also pretty small and sometimes can be found cheaper... or with more wattage.

Don't know of anyone in Canada that stocks these, but maybe you can eBay most of it? Usually you can find a dealer that's willing to ship to Canada as a "gift" with a low $ value on an item.

Mini-ITX Motherboards are your best bet, specifically this Insight P4 mobo.

It has onboard S3 AGP 4x graphics though; no AGP slot, only PCI. Here's a blurb:
Designed by VIA, Insight's P4 ITX integrated motherboard supports Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron Processors (478-pin) with a 533/400MHz Front Side Bus, and is Hyper-threading capable.

Specifications: VIA P4N266A + VT8235 Chipset; 1 x PC2100 DDR DIMM slot; 1 PCI slot; S3 ProSavage8 AGP4X graphics with S-Video and TV-Out; 6 Channel VT1616 Audio; 10/100 LAN; Floppy Port; 2 x IDE Ports; 2 x USB 2.0; 2 headers for 4 additional USB ports; 170 x 170mm.

The online store also has many tiny PSUs, but they lack the output to power a P4.

Note that someone else already did this.
