Alright I'll start with system specs:
Intel E6750 Core 2 Duo
EVGA 680i SLI (A1)
4gb Corsair RAM
320 gb WD SE hd
HP DVD+-RW
Crappy case
Purepower TMV 500w PSU
And now for the problem...I bought the parts off a guy that everything working and was using it daily (saw running pics). Once I got the parts I built the whole thing and started it up ready to rock...and that's where the fun started.
The first problem was that it wouldn't see any hard drives connected to it. Whether it be an IDE or SATA. Never loaded Windows, nothing.
After playing with that for a few days and buying the new SATA WD it decided it wouldn't post anymore. I got the "double dash" code.
Googled it and found it might be a grounding problem. Tried it outside of the case, same thing. Next is a bad MB. RMAd it with EVGA and got a new one. Same problem.
Then I tried a newer/better PSU. Nope, not it.
The last thing tech support came up with is it being the CPU, just got my RMA today and it's doing the same thing still!
I've checked grounding problems, bad video card (tried a different one), different RAM in different slots, resetting the CMOS and checking it's battery...everything!!
I'm at my wits end and need help...anyone have any ideas??
Thanks a bunch!
