I'm "sleepless in Seattle" - it's about 2120 local and just getting dark - and cannot figure out why a borged Thinkpad T40 (P4 M@1600) is crunching a p1409 (228 points) at the rate of 1 frame every 1:34hr while my Thinkpad T23 (P3 M@1.13) is crunching a p1140 (600 points) at the rate of 1 frame every 1:04 hrs. Checking CPU time the T40 shows FahCore-78 sucking virtually every second
Any suggestions?

My P-4 at 3.12 was taking about an hour per frame on those so your numbers don't look all that bad.

My AMD64s take between 23 and 25 minuits per frame which I liked a bit better ;)

Fold on

problem partially solved - by running in safe mode my times are down to 35 minutes per frame. A svings of almost 1 hr/frame.
I hate seeing all those "timered checkpoint triggered" messages
