Hi there folks :)

This is my first post here. Well, I was wondering if any of you has experience with Gigabyte 7970 WF3 cards.
In particular I have one with stock 925 core and 1375 mem, unlocked volts for both mem and core.

It seems to do quite well even on air, up to 1300/1940mhz for 3d01 benching for example (1.3v/1.65v)

I wanna grab a new h87 or z87 board, and a 4770k. I may go for the ASrock H87 performance board or maybe a Z87X-OC, depending on my budget next month.
I wanna grab a second 7970 but I'm not sure which of the current offerings would be a good match for my current one.
I'm gonna keep stock and not get a water loop (not for now at least) so ref blower cards are out of the picture.

Thoughts? Btw, I mine litecoins, so I need something capable for that as well, and no, I don't want a 7950. :D

why dont you just grab another of the exact same cards ? I've found this cooler to be the best for crossfire or sli setups (if you have to use a card that vents into the case). They have 1000mhz version and 1100mhz version on newegg. I think the newer models may be voltage locked so your better to get the 1100mhz version as it will probably have a voltage of 1.25v or so from the factory and you'll have headroom to clock it higher. More likely to get a good bin to.

IMHO I would look to the used marketplace as most new cards are voltage locked and seem to be worse ocers than the older models. You really should reconsider putting the cards underwater. It's a true pleasure not having to deal with screaming fans.

If your staying with air I would look for a reference card cause with 2 7970's exhausting in your case is going to be very hot and loud.

My two cents :)

2 wf3 7970s will not be loud or hot. I had 2 670 wf3 and they ran like 40% fan and stayed in the 60s using auto fan. its a joke how well those coolers work. mind you you HAVE to have good airflow or it will be crap.

Whatever just relaying my info. I guess we all have different opinions on heat and noise :)
