Im new to this overclocking stuff and have read Eclipse's guide.

My setup :

3500+ Venice (Scythe Ninja 120mm fan)
A8N-SLI Deluxe (Latest Bios 1015)
1gig standard 3200 DDR ram (2x512)

Trying to find the MAX overclock my FSB (HTT) will do(Using the guide) but i cannot get the speed any higher than 222MHz, ive changed the HT Link Multi, RAM divider and CPU multi but nothing seems to work.

Have run the memory 1MHz higher so that it locks the PCI at 33.33.

Also moved hdd to SATA 3.

Have not tried changeing any Voltages as yet, not really sure what voltages to try.

It looks like its something im missing but not sure.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you overclocking in bios, or using clockgen? If using CG, be sure to bump the htt to 201 or higher (in bios), or else the pcie bus WILL NOT be locked.

You mean the pcie 1mhz higher. This will lock the pci/pcie at 33.4/101 respectively, if you sett htt to 201 as well, and oc with cg.

Hi, have changed to 201MHz in the BIOS and that does lock the PCI bus at 33.34 but the system is still locking up when i try to go any higher than 222MHz using Clockgen in windows.

Had another tinker today and it turned out to be my ram divider, changed that and managed to get the HTT/FSB up around 300MHz before the system became unstable.

Can get the CPU just over 250MHz before the system plays up.

Seeing what the ram can do now,

From the info above whats the best way to go bearing in mind i have basic DDR400 ram?

I found multiplier 10,5 best for my setup. It's now at 10,5 x 265 = 2782 Mhz. As I've got Corsair's 3500LLPRO (DDR438) mem, I use a divider of 13 (which is DDR333 setting on my A8N). For this to work I had to set the CPU voltage to 1,55v.

With multiplier at 11 I was able to get to 220 FSB with mem divider at 10 (DDR400 on A8N). The ram just won't go higher than 440 Mhz, but this is ok for DDR438.
Haven't tried maxing out the FSB with a higher ram divider.

Hope this info is of use.
