ok, the power went out last night. I woke up and proceeded to reboot my webserver. I got the BSOD with this message,

"Page_Fault_in_nonpage_ area"

I treid to boot from a knoppix cd, and a windows xp disk. Keeps saying boot disk error, I tried 2 cd roms. I even tried to boot from a win98 floppy. I have 2 sticks of ram in it, I tried to remove one stick at a time and it still wouldn't boot. I'm thinking it may be a dead HD controller or something. The main drive is an IDE drive. I also have a pci raid contoller for my raid 1 array. I might try to boot a SATA drive from the pci controller. Any help would be GREATLY appritiated.

well the IDE drive I'm not toooo, worried about. It'd be nice to keep all that, but all of my important data is on my 160GB array. but my problem is, it wont boot form a cd. So I can't reinstall windows. Mobo is a Biostar U8668-D. Any ideas?

so your bypassing the original boot HD to try and boot off something else, and it wont work at all?

go down to youre nearest PC store and buy an el-cheapo IDE/Sata card and plug it in, disable the on-board controllers

ok, problems are worst than I imagined, I reinstalled windows. Got the same error, unplugged my two raid drives, and it booted fine. These 160gb hd's have my life on em. so, uh any suggestions?

try new cables

or put one the raid drives in another PC and see what happens. Raid 1 is mirror, right?

ok, it booted fine on the initial boot after the install. Iinstalled drivers for the raid card, rebooted and I got that error. Maybe I'll try to find newer drivers. Other than that any ideas?

This is probably better helped in the OS subforum (due to the error) but it's likely hardware... You may want to get it moved, or not. :D

This can be multiple things from bad RAM, corrupt HDD, bad HDD cable, bad mobo, bad PSU, or a bad driver.

OK, so you reinstalled, and you're still getting the error, so it's not likely a driver, but that's still possible.

I'd check the HDD with the tools from the manuf. and test the RAM with memtest86+. Both of these tools (for most HDDs) are located on the Ultimate Boot CD

Good luck.

ok, so now it boots, but only when no drives are connected. WTF? This error just came out of nowhere. I'm out of ideas, you guys got any?

EDIT: If I got another controller, would my drives data be unchanged?

Guess I should have been more clear, It will boot from my IDE drive fine. I can get to windows and everything. When I connect my SATA RAID Drives to the controller, it wont boot. So any more ideas? lol.

Was the page file on the SATA drive?
nope. Well I tried to boot with one drive at a time. One booted, the other gave me the error. then I went to the raid bios, one drive said rebuild, the other said Current. so should I rebuild the array or will this destroy my data? should I break the array to savlage the data? If so how?
