help w/ new build!! comp just freezes

OK, so my setup
AMD 64 3500+ 939
MSI Neo2 platinum
2x512mb corsair xms 3200xl ram
PNY 6800gt
WD 74 gig raptor
for now, i have a simple HS/f
Windows xp pro w/ sp2


the problem is my computer will just freeze. i cant ctrl+alt+del or anything.. i have to hit the reset button on my comp. at first i thought it was overheating but in my bios the cpu temp is 49/50 C. I have all the drivers and stuff updated. Most notably it'll freeze whem i'm playing a game (CS). any help on trouble shoothing this?

well Id recommend you trial this

and keep an eye out for big blue spikes which would be an interrupt storm
check the event viewer to see if it managed to write anything before the hard restart

you can also try removing components that might be causing an interrupt storm
a very trial and error approach that Ive had to resort to

I dont know how long your currently waiting but if it is something making a call on the kernal and not getting an answer they will generally give after a period of time and then try again (which is where taskinfo 2003 comes in)
